When I am travelling around I love to try the local food I can get along the way to the destination. On the way to Penang I heard Bamboo Rice (Nasi Bamboo) is very popular. it is located at SG KLAH. Perak.
Once I reached the spot, OMG the restaurant was full of people. It was hard to find a seat. I have to wait at the table for my turn to sit and eat. It was such a big place. They have barbecue corner on the right side, miscellaneous soups, sambal and vegetables on the left. We can get the tray in front of the shop. The drinks were served at the centre of the shop.
Boba drinks are very famous now in Malaysia, they even make their own Boba daily. I bought a tasty Green tea Boba. Yeah…it was fresh and greeny. I ordered some meat soup, sweet barbecued lamb, fried beef lung, salad and barbecued quail. It was really a mind-blowing taste. I certainly will never get hungry for a year. I was feeling so full that I almost couldn’t move from my seat.
Finally, for desert I tried the coconut cake they sell nearby the restaurant. It had sweet grated coconut as filling.
As I drove away I still could feel the melted bamboo rice in my mouth.
