Welcome to the world of Shazie

My Encounter with Australia

It has really never cross my mind, the word Australia. My cousin kept on telling me about this country named Australia. What is so special about Australia? What is there in Australia? It is all playing in my mind. There was also a movie about Australia starred by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman but i never watch it. I just saw the posters or advertisemenst in the newspaper. I wonder why Australia came to my face but i couldn’t have the feeling about it. Yes, it is haunting me, only i have not open myself yet to it. May be because i don’t understand. All i know, Australia is known for Opera House, what else is there i thought.

One day, just that one day i watched Oprah show that she is going to Australia. Well okay, Australia seems to be interesting. At the end i agreed to my cousin suggestion to go to Australia.

We decided to spend five days in Australia. We bought flight tickets and hotel online. All are at reasonable at price. It was a long flight, kind of one day trip in a plane. We slept most of the time because the flight was at the evening. We reached Sydney Airport in noon. We were excited.  This is our first time in Australia. There is so much to see and explore. I felt happy, at least i get to see one of the wonders in the world, Opera House.

After we checked-in a hotel which was nearby the Central Railway Station. We immediately refresh ourselves. We were so excited to see Australia. We are here now in one of busiest city in Australia, Sydney. The first place we visited is Darling Harbour.  We were fancinated by the bridge, flags, scenery and attractions around Darling Harbour itself.

Darling Harbour is only a short distance from the city centre. It is a popular destination with waterfront, dining, history and nightlife. It is full of events. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILDLIFE Sydney Zoo, MADAME TUSSAUDS Sydney which are side by side and they  all are there for us to explore.

After going around, we stopped at Hard Rock Cafe which is at the heart of Darling Harbour for coffee and continued our expedition in shopping mall at The Harbourside.

We are food lovers and in Harbourside mall, i ensure you will never recognise the word hungry. They serve delicious variety of food, just name it. You will get it, from juice to wine and diversity of world choice of food like indian food, Arabian, Chinese , all are there.

The second day, we went to Sydney Chinatown. It is located at the Hypermarket, between Central Station and Darling Harbour. It is Australia’s largest Chinatown, i guess.

All were WOW! Shopping, shopping and shopping. We just can’t stop shopping. If you like Chinese food, here is the place for you to try and get all the tastiest Chinese cuisines.  We bought many souvenirs like t-shirts, fridge magnets, key chains and may sort of things that we cant describe here. If  you go to Chinatown just don’t forget to bring alot of money, otherwise you will regret it later. Everything is cheap, just no worries spending!

The third day, we went to Opera House and the Botanical Garden. I am speechless! I saw and touched with my eyes and hands, one of the seven wonders in the world now. Its in front of me. It is the busiest arts centre featuring world leading events they said. It is just a corner of Darling Harbour. It welcomes millions of people from all over the world, including me and my cousin. We sat an hour just watching the art of architecture, the Opera House.

After eating our lunch at Opera Bar, we went to the Botanical garden. It  is about twenty minutes walks  from the Opera House. It is one of the most historical botanical institutions  in the world. It is open everyday and access is free. The sight is beautiful, you can see people are walking, jogging, gathering and do what so ever they want here.  The flowers are beautiful at the garden,  red,  white, blue, they all captured your eyes. We walked till our legs hurt. Anyway it is Sydney, we might not get the chance next time.  The time we got back to Darling Harbour it was already dark. Darling Harbour at night surely is peaceful to heart.

We don’t want to miss watching movie at the Imax Cinema here, so we spent almost two hours for a movie. After that, we just sat at Hard Rock Cafe enjoying nice music and food. Tomorrow is our flight back. That was our last kiss with Darling Sydney.

Dzie❤

Is there any place that I missed from my trip to Sydney?

Please tell me.
