Welcome to the world of Shazie

The Flemington Market, Sydney

The weather has been very unfriendly lately. We couldn’t go anywhere far from home. I have been to Sydney many times so, I had been to the Opera house and attractions nearby. I love cooking. Even though it’s not as tasty as the professional chef touch, at least I can cook food I like. I  have a feeling that it is incomplete for me not to make a tour to the place I called market, especially the wet market.

Luckily, Mr ikan was free at weekend. He was so delighted to show me the famous and huge market in Sydney, the Flemington Market.

We went there by train, it was about  30 minutes from Central Station to Flemington station. The train station is directly reaching the market.  There were so many people heading there. We can see men and women pulling trollies with them. I wonder what are they so excited about. We brought with us only a back pack. I wonder if things are really cheap there. I just can’t wait to reach the destination. We walked through the car park, not knowing the way to place called the Flemington Market. We followed the others goers.

We kept wondering and looking around until we reached a stair heading to the ground. We saw a huge area full of people and things. We were speechless. It was some kind of car booth sales.

They were selling all sort of things. I couldn’t imagine what is not in the market. We can find clothes, shoes, adornments, toys, bags and etcs.

There were way too many things and we were not planning to buy anything. We just had our window shopping. The prices of things were reasonable and the vendors were always ready for bargain.

After our long walk at the used goods market, we went to the other side and stepped into fruits and vegetables market.

It was a very colourful sight. Variety of fruits and vegetables around and the prices were cheaper from the establish supermarkets. The sellers are friendly, they greeted their customers with smiles and waving hands.

We found the market was not only selling local varieties but from other countries like dried fruits and foods such as chicken kebabs.

Besides fruits and vegetables, we can buy fresh seafood and chickens here too. It certainly will not disappointed visit Flemington Market.

We happily bought some grapes, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and chillies.

The Flemington Market is vast and selling arrays of unimaginable things. Surprisingly, the Flower Market is here too. I love flowers. Mr ikan and I do grow some flowers in pots. We would never miss an opportunity to visit the market.

We were late. It was almost close that day but I  could see nobody want to miss any chance to grab a few bouquet of flowers, furthermore the price was half as it was near to closing time.

We could smell the fragrances of the flower when we walked around. I managed to persuade Mr ikan to buy me a bouquet of peach roses. He bought a few more for our home too.

Our trip to Flemington Market was really worth it. I could feel it is the best place for tourists to go and shop of used good. Some might like home made food and try their culinary talent when staying at apartments, this market will provide various of choices needed.
