Welcome to the world of Shazie

The Hidden French Village In Malaysia

We had been in the lockdown for months and it was not easy to stay at one place after all the freedom we used to. We weren’t allowed to go out from home unless we really need to buy the important ration. We weren’t allowed to travel inter district or inter state because of covid-19. So, all we did was surfing net, watching tv and missing the old times when we were free and lived without quarantine.

After millions times of browsing at the net, I came across this place that the Malaysian were so busy talking about. The Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi which is located at Bentong Pahang.

The border of interstate has been officially opened and we are allowed to travel around once again but with strict S.O.P. I don’t mind wearing face mask as long as I can go around freely. I felt so bored been cooped up at home. A little bit of freedom is a blessing for me.

So, I quickly booked a one night stay at Colmar Tropicale, Bukit Tinggi, Bentong Pahang from Agoda online. It is always cheap and easy to book hotels from Agoda and any cancellation is always at our convenience.

When I was about to reach Colmar Tropicale I could feel the cool air caressing my skin. The first thing I saw, this place was full of local tourists busy taking pictures and videos at the entrance. It was beautiful alright. The surrounding was kind of misty because of rainy weather and when I arrived there, the rain was still drizzling. It was cold.

So, I drove to Colmar Tropicale from Kuala Lumpur for roughly about 2 hours. It was not a straight way. I had to go through winding road to reach the place. Even though there is shuttle bus coming to this place but I prefer driving cause I always like driving. It gives the feeling of adventure to me.

Colmar Tropicale is like a foreign village appeared out of nowhere. Colmar Tropicale looks like a palace to me. I just couldn’t imagine a place like this exist in Malaysia. I was so excited to explore and to spend time here. I was so happy I had made a decision to stay at least one night here.

After getting my keys and room number from the receptionist I was feeling so excited to see the room. It was so cool. It was just like renting a castle. Here, I have a living room, kitchen, dining area, bedroom, bathroom and even a bathtub. Only one was missing – the maids. A swimming pool was at the other side of the building, hidden from public eyes.

I felt like living in my own home. I loved it. This room had a balcony and from the balcony I could see a beautiful nature view. The air was so fresh and green, these were the reasons attracting the local to come here.

After feeling secured and happy with my room, I quickly took a tour around this wonderful place. The pathway was made of cobblestone, the buildings were so colorful and have the pattern of vintage buildings with timber window frames.

As I strolled down the street, I can see many local tourists tried to capture photos at the fountain and it was hard not to bring a piece of this place back with you. I really felt that I am somewhere oversea when I am here.

A fountain at the middle of the small town. it is the center of attraction for everyone to whether to sit near it or taking pictures of it.

At night it was cold here. I dozed off early as I was tired looking at all the pictures that I had taken.

In the morning I had breakfast and it was not disappointing. The hotel served western food and local delicacy as well.

After the hearty breakfast, I went around the shops and bought some pretty souvenirs. I chose one t-shirt and a key chain to bring back with me.

I love to keep this hotel’s card. It has maps of our room and the areas to visit. Maybe I would come back again. we’ll see!
