I started to drive to Penang Island after I have finished my sightseeing at The Raintree walk in Taiping. It was already evening but in Malaysia the sunset is only at 7.30p.m.
I decided to go to Penang through the second bridge which is known as Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge. The bridge is 250m and was constructed on February 2014.
It was my first time to drive on it, I felt excited but I couldn’t stop to take pictures because I didn’t see any space for car park at the bridge. It was such a long drive. The scenery was beautiful. The deep blue sea was looking calm.
When I reached Penang Island it was already dark, I started to remember hotel I booked online last night. I printed the last page and unfortunately the name of the hotel was not there. and I could not remember the name. It was so OMG! Thankfully I ticked the ‘Pay at the counter’ box while booking and haven’t paid for it .
Time to look for a new hotel to stay. It’s not easy to find a hotel in Penang during the holiday. It is one of the most visited state in Malaysia. Now I felt like kind of rushing and nervous about where to spend the night.
The found a hotel with rate of RM85 for a night , I considered it affordable. I immediately bought it and drove to the hotel. As I am not familiar with the location mentioned, I switched on GPS map for directions. It was a long way, I passed by the night market, Hardrock Hotel until I felt I have reached the end of Penang Island.
Honestly I was scared. I looked at the GPS directions many times to make sure it is going to the right hotel. The GPS said I have reached my destination. I couldn’t see anything as it was dark. All I can see was a horror gate and a dog roaming around the area. I started to panic. I have paid for the stay, so it seems like I can’t just leave it. I didn’t see anyone there, not even a security guard. So I decided to call the hotel owner, Mr Dino. He said just come in through the gate. He will be waiting at the Capsule.
I am feeling I am driving into the jungle. All I could see was trees and darkness. It was creepy like hell. After I entered the second entrance of the place, I saw Mr Dino waving and signalled a spot to park my car. I really didn’t expect RM 85 can be this terrifying.
I didn’t expect a Capsule hotel located in the jungle. I thought it was near a beach. Mr Dino was a very friendly owner. My worries were all gone when I started talking to him.
He was pointing to the Capsule where I am going to sleep and the bathroom plus the toilet is right opposite of my capsule. Which was about 5 minutes walk. I just couldn’t imagine where I was at that night time. I regretted I didn’t read the location properly. My first night stay was at the jungle in a Capsule. I am feeling like I have just landed at Planet Pluto.
Without further ado, I asked for dismissal. I went to my Capsule.
